We are excited to announce the release of Dr. Scott Walker's Podcast - NET Explained! As an expression of thanks to our many supporters, the first episode is available for everyone to stream below. Future podcasts will be regularly released to Gold and Platinum sustaining ONE Foundation members over the coming year.
Dr. James Buckley has been a supporter of the ONE Research Foundation for years, but in his words: Little did I know that I would become a direct beneficiary of the Foundation’s research. In April 2014 I was diagnosed with stage II non-Hodgkin’s B cell lymphoma. Having to face a life threatening illness was very scary. Though I have been a seasoned practitioner for many years, a diagnosis like this brings up NECs that may not come up in everyday life.
I came home from that seminar knowing I had discovered something powerful. Terry’s family members were some of the first patients I treated with NET, and through the years they’ve all come to me for various reasons. I’ve seen all of them go through life’s trials and tribulations, heartbreaks and challenges, joys and celebrations.
The final steps of patient recruitment and care are in the process of completion. In late May / early June, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital saw a spike in patient recruitment in response to a presentation to the Jefferson Cancer Survivorship Group and it is anticipated that all patients will complete their treatment by early August. The research team will then begin their analysis.
Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) — a noninvasive, natural way of clearing stress, negative emotions and energy blocks in the body that are often the root cause of pain, disease and dysfunction — was developed more than 30 years ago by Scott Walker, D.C.
Check out some helpful tips for practicing NET!
Dr. Scott Walker explains why ONE’s current research study, “Assessment of NET for decreasing traumatic stress symptoms in cancer survivors,” is the most important ever in the Complementary and Alternative Medicine arena.
Like many in the NET community, ONE’s board members are avid readers. Check out this article for several recommendations from Dr. Shireen Hodgetts.
The first contact most businesses and professionals have with their clients or patients is the phone call for an appointment. Research tells us that the caller wants to know three things: 1) Have I reached the right office? 2) Who am I speaking to? And, 3) Unconsciously, they want to know if they are welcome; “Will I be well cared for?” Often when the phone is answered the caller hears something like, “Good morning, Jones Health, Wealth and Happiness Clinic. This is Lisa speaking. May I help you?” We suggest something simpler is more effective.
Mark Fohs, L.M.H.C., and ONE Board of Directors Vice President, shares insights on: NET and mental health counseling, working with clients, and attendant challenges.
Do you have a research proposal you would like ONE to consider?
The second half of 2014 saw increased patient enrollment in the Monti/Newberg study conducted at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH). Increased enrollment is attributed to outreach efforts from TJUH, as well as in response to an article published in The Philadelphia Inquirer, which focused on the study.
For the last 20 years The ONE Research Foundation has served as a rallying point for those of us on the cutting edge of healthcare.
Congratulations, to Dr. Steven Zodkoy on the publication of his new book, “Misdiagnosed: The Adrenal Fatigue Link.”
Some may not know that the “O.N.E.” in O.N.E. Research Foundation is an acronym for Our NET Effect.
Our NET Effect speaks to the wonderful care and healing experienced by patients around the world and provided by practitioners of all healthcare disciplines. Every day, more and more patients are able to access safe, effective, drugless healthcare.
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Applied Kinesiology (AK). On June 21st at a meeting hosted by the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK) Dr. Scott accepted the award on behalf of himself, Dr. Deb and NET practitioners everywhere.
As a chiropractor Dr. Brian Ormond works to heal the body and improve the health of his patients; as a facilitator of peace leadership and alternatives to violence he inspires teens to create a better world for themselves and others.
In March, Dr. Babcock presented at the WombTwin Conference at All Hallows College, in Dublin, Ireland. As a survivor of a vanished twin, Dr. Babcock shared his 23 years of research experience and knowledge concerning the Vanishing Twin to help others heal from the crisis known as “womb twin survivor.” As a certified NET practitioner he also explained how NET helps with the loss of a twin.
Jef Gazley, M.S., L.M.F.T., D.C.C. presented “Neuro Emotional Technique, The Lesser Known EP” at the ACEP (Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology) conference held May 29th – June 1st in Phoenix, AZ.
In order to protect the integrity of ONE’s current research study, we are unable to share detailed information prior to the study’s publication. However, we realize those who have supported this research are interested in its progress.
What effects if any does stress has on our Genes? A review of pertinent literature indicates the short answer is found in the world of Epigenetics – the science studying factors that affect how and whether certain genes are expressed without altering our genetic makeup.
Although ONE’s primary focus is scientific research, occasionally we receive accounts from practitioners and/or patients detailing the effectiveness of NET, and reminding us once again why we support ONE. Here a patient of Dr. Lawrence Bakur describes how her lifelong allergy to cats was eliminated through NET.
On Sept. 27th, in Carlsbad CA at the celebration of NET’s 25th and ONE’s 20th anniversaries, Daniel Monti, M.D. and Andrew Newberg, M.D., of Thomas Jefferson Medical University, revealed the future of ONE Foundation’s research initiative on NET before a packed crowd of practitioners and guests.
In the year of ONE’s 20th anniversary we are honored that Dr. Andrew Specht, one of our 1st presidents, shared a little time with us to reflect on the work and mission of the Foundation.
In its 2nd year, Heal Christchurch is a collaborative event to bring healing to the people of Christchurch, NZ who were impacted by the destructive earthquakes of 2011. In 2012 Dr. Scott Walker and volunteer practitioners from New Zealand and Australia came together to treat those whose health and wellbeing were impacted by the devastating earthquakes. In Nov. 2013 volunteers will again work to heal the local communities. Dr. Walker described last year’s event as the highlight of his professional career. ONE encourages interested practitioners to volunteer.
On Sept. 26th–28th we will celebrate ONE’s 20th and NET’s 25th anniversaries at the NET Homecoming Success seminar! Keynote speakers Dr. Dan Monti and Dr. Andrew Newberg will discuss their groundbreaking research on the effects of NET on stress reduction for recovering cancer patients.
Periodically we receive reports from our practitioners and supporters regarding the benefits of ONE’s research; below are a few we’d like to share.
A practitioner member recalls that she delivered a public healthcare talk during which a member of the audience, a neuroscientist, asked if there was research supporting the facts presented in the speech. Our doctor replied, “Absolutely, and here they are!” The inquisitive neuroscientist became a patient. YAHOO!!
Dr. A.L. Rosner reports, the study on manual muscle testing and therapy localization is progressing through the inter-examiner reliability phase, with the instrumentation phase (electromyography, electrogoniometery, vibromyography) given to the statisticians in late May. Congratulations, to Dr. Rosner and team for this quality research effort.
The ONE Research Foundation is providing funding for a new research study: Reliability and Validity of Therapy Localization in Applied Kinesiology II: Conformation and Generalizability of Outcomes. The literature describing the interobserver reliability in manual muscle testing as practiced in applied kinesiology is sparse and inconsistent. That describing the validity is even weaker, existing in less than 5 papers. This study will provide critical missing pieces to the literature of applied kinesiology.
Caroline Peterson, D.C., Ph.D., MPH, CPM has volunteered to join ONE’s Research Committee.
